Here are a few hints in case of database corruption
downloading the Jet database engine 3.51, please see the following article in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base:
172733 ACC97: Updated Version of Microsoft Jet 3.5 Available for Download

So update your version of Jet and try re-compacting the database.
if this doesn’t work (I’m afraid it won’t), download and try compacting the database with JetComp.exe, which you can download here:
